Overseas Forensic Technicians
Several Forensic Technicians are being sought for employment as civilian contractors supporting US military activity on-base in Iraq and Afghanistan. Forensic Technicians trained to competency in a state or federal ASCLD/LAB accredited laboratory, with recent Forensic Technician employment experience, are preferred.
Forensic Technicians are responsible for the scientific analysis of evidence for the presence of latent prints and should have experience processing a multitude of different surfaces through various physical and chemical means. In addition, the Technician should have some latent print photography skill-sets including, but not limited to, searching evidence for possible DNA and seizing same. The Technician also prepares detailed written reports of processes performed on evidence and results.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Process various types of evidence for latent prints.
- Enhance visible latent prints.
- Identify and label latent prints of value on evidence to be photographed.
- Collect and preserve possible DNA evidence.
- Maintain and document the chain of custody of evidence.
- Prepare detailed reports on processes performed and results.
- Train personnel in the area of latent prints.
- Provide input and establish policies and procedures that contribute to the efficiency of the operation.
Requirements
- Proficient in processing porous and non-porous items for latent prints.
- Experience processing evidence with chemicals in a laboratory setting.
- Proficient in obtaining known inked prints and major case prints.
- Ability to differentiate between an identifiable latent print and a non-identifiable latent print.
- Possess the ability to teach classes and brief information pertaining to obtaining known prints, palms and major case prints.
- Able to successfully pass proficiency testing prior to and periodically during employment with the company.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Organizational skills a must.
- Physically able and willing to rotationally deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan a minimum of six months a year.
- Able to obtain a US secret clearance and US Passport.
- Must attend pre-deployment training.
